2017 National Dressage Finals

Police and Guateque represented Coves Darden P.R.E. at the 2017 Regional Dressage Championships in North Carolina.  Guateque IV won the 4th Level open championship class with a 66.61% score. He went on to earned a wild card score of 68.158% in the Prix St. George open championship class under Stacey Hastings. Police placed 3rd in the Grand Prix open championship, just missing the cut for the Nationals this year. In the Grand Prix Freestyle, Police  came back in top form,  placing 2nd with a excellent scored of 69.388%!

Coves Darden P.R.E. horses have been regular competitors at the National Dressage Finals.  They weathered the sub freezing temperatures of November in Kentucky once again this year. Both stallions put in very respectable performances.

Police  was reserve champion in the warm up Grand Prix open class, and came in 9th in the Open Grand Prix Freestyle Championship with a 65.8%. The Freestyle, with theme music compiled from a number of law enforcement movies and tv series is a crowd pleaser.

Guateque warmed up for the finals with a PSG test where he placed 1st with a 67.63%.  The finals 4th level Championship classes was tough competition. He scored a 68.70%  placing 7th in the nation. He held his own in the PSG open Championship  class where he placed 10th with a score of 67.14%

Califa a 2013 son of Tronc competed in the region 3 Dressage Championships in Wellington Florida this year at Training and First level.  Califa is owned and trained by Laura Abner. He placed 2nd in the Open Training Level Championship class with a score of 69.88% and scored a 68.60% in the Open First Level Championship class. The pair went on to compete at the National Dressage Finals at Training Level where they earned a score of 66.36% in a large class. Congratulations to the pair !     Alhambra LXXIV a 2011 filly from Goloso, owned by Tricia Mills and ridden by Sarah Sharpe competed in the region 3 Dressage Championships in Wellington Florida this year at Training and First level.  In the AA Training Level Championship class, she placed 7th with a score of 65.22%. At First level she placed 8th with a 63.52%.  Their top championship class performance was in the First Level Musical Freestyle class were the pair scored 65.41% putting them in 8th place.  Barbate CDF is also a son of Goloso. He is owned by Susan Massaro and was ridden by Jennifer Flowers in the Region 1 Dressage Championships. The pair earned a 66.8% in the Training Level Open Championship class, a 62.35% at First Level and a 66.1% in the First Level Freestyle Championship class. Barbate has had a very successful competition year consistently scoring in the high 60’s and 70’s.
